Cromaine’s current Board majority has raised concerns for many residents. Professional ties with the American Library Association and Michigan Library Association were severed, leaving staff without membership support. Books are being labeled or relocated based on viewpoint discrimination. Public participation has been stifled, community feedback is dismissed, legal advice is ignored, and taxpayer dollars are being wasted on ideological policy changes instead of library services.
We believe Cromaine deserves responsible leadership that upholds professional library standards and reflects the values of the people it serves. Our candidates bring experience in education, public service, nonprofit leadership, and the arts — and a shared commitment to restoring intellectual freedom, fiscal responsibility, supporting professional library staff, and ensuring that Cromaine remains a welcoming, well‑run public institution for all Hartland residents. We are focused on rebuilding trust, strengthening services, and returning the library to its core mission of connecting people with information, ideas, and one another.Â
This election decides Cromaine’s direction for the next four years. We pledge to:
Uphold professional standards and your constitutional rights
Provide a secular, safe, inclusive library free from political and religious agendas
Use tax dollars for quality services and programming, not lawsuits
Professionally support staff and ensure Hartland's voice is represented statewide                                           Â
We need VOTES FOR ALL FOUR candidates so we can protect patron rights and
Cromaine's future as a cherished cornerstone in our community.Â
