A Note from the Campaign Coordinator
Libraries have always been a meaningful part of my life since childhood. I remember library day at school as the highlight of my week — the excitement of choosing a new book, the sense of possibility, and the feeling that the library was a magical place full of stories and knowledge available to everyone.
When I discovered that magic was being destroyed by the current Board at Cromaine, I couldn't sit by. Everyone deserves to feel included at their public library and to have access to books free from discrimination and censorship.
I believe deeply in the importance of libraries as places of voluntary inquiry and choice — spaces where people of all ages can explore ideas, discover new perspectives, and access information that reflects the full diversity of human experience. Having access to a wide range of viewpoints shaped my own education and opportunities. The ability to read broadly, think critically, and learn from voices different from my own played a meaningful role in my academic success, my career, and my understanding of the world. Public libraries make that possible for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, and that is a resource worth protecting.
Our campaign committee is made up of parents and neighbors who are tired of the partisan attacks on our schools and libraries. We have come together to support a slate of nonpartisan candidates who bring the experience, integrity, and strong leadership needed for effective library governance. Each candidate offers strengths that align with the responsibilities of a trustee— thoughtful decision‑making, fiscal responsibility, respect for professional standards, and a commitment to supporting the library's mission and serving the entire community.
I know you’ll come to appreciate Ethan, Nancy, Griffin, and David as much as I do - people who truly care about Cromaine and protecting its legacy, its mission, and its future as a cherished cornerstone in our community. Their integrity, thoughtfulness, collaborative spirit, and dedication to serving the district library and its patrons is exactly the kind of Board Hartland needs.
Thank you to all the friends, family, and neighbors
for your support with our campaign!
